If you are operating on a budget, you probably can’t afford to go out all the time with your friends, and spend money on restaurants, movies, theater, clubs, etc. The good news is that you can find good entertainment and still stick to your budget. Start by looking at the clubs, free events and organizations on campus. Your school is likely to have SOMETHING that will suit your taste and these events are always affordable, if not free.
I will give you advice. If you want to be creative, look at some of the websites and companies that specialize in interactive college entertainment. These companies will deliver or bring entertainment right to your campus and you can arrange some time in a lounge or other public area to schedule and advertise a party or event.
In addition to scheduled events like concerts, hypnotists, circus acts and other live entertainers, you can also rent a karaoke machine and make your own entertainment, or rent a great old movie favorite from your childhood era and have a great time with your classmates (Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz, whatever you like). You can also enjoy some entertainment on the cheap by bringing a game from home or borrowing a board game, a game of Twister or a computer or TV based game designed to be played in groups (like Family Feud). Get creative. Play charades, casino games (for bottle caps or pennies) or anything that will get the group laughing. You CAN enjoy yourself without spending your hard-earned money on expensive entertainment!
